Battle Mountain Husky Football moved to 4-1 on the season with a Friday night win over the Panthers of Woodland Park, 50-35.

The game's first quarter was eventful as neither team could get a good handle on the football. The first five series in the game resulted in four fumbles and one interception.

Battle Mountain's Kiah Gongaware, Travor Goldberg, Garrett Anderson and Nick Walthers all contributed to both the final tall and defense throughout the game.

Running out of both the Power I and the Double Wing offensive schemes, the Huskies kept the Panthers guessing and made lots of big running plays. An ailing Anthony Sanchez made the 2-point conversion the norm for Battle Mountain, helping secure the wide margin of victory.

The next game for Battle Mountain will be against the Tigers of Summit County on Friday, Oct. 5, in Edwards.
