Battle Mountain High School football moves to 5-1 on the season after besting the Summit County Tigers, 26-14 last Friday night.
Both teams got off to a shaky start with fumbles and an interception in the first quarter. The Tigers struck first, but wouldn’t score again until the third quarter off a Battle Mountain fumble.
A fake punt leading to a touchdown took the Huskies into halftime with a startling momentum shift going in the second half.
Rainy conditions led to an expedited Homecoming celebration, allowing Battle Mountain to maintain their intensity early in the third quarter, scoring again to solidify the 26-14 win.
The Huskies demonstrated a balanced running attack with Kaia Gongaware, Eric Biggs, Treavor Goldberg and Garret Anderson sharing the ball handling duties.
Battle Mountain High School football faces the Steamboat Springs Sailors for an away game. Pre-game starts at 6:45, gametime is set for 7 p.m.
