Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) introduces the first-ever “Friday Night Flights” as a new addition to its 42 year-old Vail Town Series, presented by East West Partners, this week.

On Friday, Dec. 11, snowboarders and skiers of all abilities are invited to join the fun for the FNF Rail Jam from 5 – 7 pm at Golden Peak – under the lights!

As a Jam format, riders and skiers will slide rails while performing their best tricks from 5 – 6 pm.

At the end of the first hour, event judges will select the top 8 snowboarders and top 8 skiers to advance to the finals. From 6 – 7 pm each finalist will take two runs; the higher scored run of each skier and rider will count toward the final results.

This week’s rail jam will have 2 divisions – an open division for ages 13 & Up (with cash prizes available) and an Under 13 division. To register for Friday’s event visit the tent mountain-side at SSCV’s Clubhouse at 598 Vail Valley Drive. Registration is from 3:30 – 5 pm Friday. All competitors must sign a release wavier; a waiver must be signed by a parent/legal guardian for those under age 18.

Future dates in the series are as follows. All events will take place from 5 – 7 pm at Golden Peak in Vail.

Jan. 8 – BIG AIR

Feb. 19 – BIG AIR

Mar. 19 – BIG AIR

Apr. 2 – BIG AIR and WALL RIDE

The cost of the event is $25 for all age groups. All proceeds from Friday Night Flights benefit the programs of SSCV.
