On November 27, 2009 at 1:35 AM, Vail Officer, Mark Allen, conducted a traffic stop on I -70 eastbound.

When he contacted the driver of the vehicle, it was discovered that he had been stabbed.  After further investigation, it was established that an altercation had occurred between roommates at a residence on Alta Circle in Vail.  During the altercation, Javier Huicar-Villa, 27, of Vail, pulled a knife and stabbed his 33 year old male roommate.

Javier Huicar-Villa left the scene. He was later located near the Vail Village Transportation Center and placed into custody by Vail Officers.

The victim was taken to Vail Valley Medical Center where he was treated for multiple stab wounds and released.

Villa will be charged with Felony Assault and booked at the Eagle County Jail.
