Free Dancing In the Streets

Be part of the action as the Vail International Dance Festival takes it to the streets with Artist-in-Residence Larry Keigwin who will choreograph a new work featuring you!
 
The 2010 Vail International Dance Festival moves from the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater stage to the streets at The Arrabelle at Vail Square on Thursday, July 29 at 5pm for an interactive and high-energy event, Dancing in the Streets. The special evening of dance and movement is free and open to the public and is a preview to Mr. Keigwin’s street/runway project for New York Fashion Week.
 
Dancing in the Streets is a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the creative genius of master dancer and choreographer, Larry Keigwin as he makes his vision come to life by creating a performance, only to be seen in Vail, involving the entire crowd – no dance experience necessary!  Dancing in the Streets will also feature an appearance by the Festival’s Artistic Director Damian Woetzel dancing with special guest Ariel Pierce.
 
As the first ever Artist-in-Residence, Mr. Keigwin is not only choreographing the masses at Dancing in the Streets, but he is also performing, with partner Ashley Browne on Tuesday, August 3 at Dance for $20.10 and is a featured choreographer, creating new work set on dance stars Tiler Peck, Robbie Fairchild, Joaquin de Luz and Sokvannara Sar that will be world premiered at the International Evenings of Dance performance on Friday, August 6 and performed again on Saturday, August 7.
 
Tickets for the 2010 Vail International Dance Festival are priced from $10 to $90 and are available online at www.vaildance.org or by phone at 888-920-ARTS (2787). The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater box office is open from 11am – 5pm MST every day; tickets are available online 24 hours per day.
