Olympic gold medalist and three-time Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall champion Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) is in the running for the 2010 Female Athlete Teen Choice Award following a record shattering alpine ski racing season and only you can determine if she wins.
Voting for the Teen Choice Awards is completely online by fans at www.teenchoiceawards.com and you can vote once per day, everyday, until the awards are announced live Monday, August 9 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
On Sunday Vonn, who is currently in Austria for a three-week dryland training block, threw a Facebook shout out for her fans to vote saying "Ok, I need your help. I found out I am nominated for a Teen Choice Award under the category "Choice Female Athlete." It only takes a sec. If you vote maybe we have a shot at winning this thing! Oh and you can vote more than once."
Also nominated in the Female Athlete category are Candice Parker (basketball), Serena Williams (tennis), Danica Patrick (racecar) and Misty May Treanor (beach volleyball).
Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Katy Perry will host the Aug. 9 event live where winners will receive surfboards in categories like Choice TV Villain and Choice Scene Stealer along with a range of categories for athletes like Vonn. Fellow skier Sarah Burke of Canada, whose sport of skier halfpipe just became an event at the 2011 World Championships, is up for the Action Sports Female.
Also representing snow sports at the Teen Choice Awards are Olympic gold medalist snowboarders Shaun White, Hannah Teter and Australian Torah Bright in addition to injured U.S. Snowboarding star Kevin Pearce.
Voting is open now at www.teenchoiceawards.com and fans can vote once per day, everyday, until the Aug. 9 show.
