The Flaming Lips plan release of legendary live performance of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon cover concert.
The Flaming Lips’ scheduled Bonnaroo performance of the entirety of Dark Side of the Moon
with friends Stardeath and White Dwarfs will be the second time they
perform the album live. The first was in the Lips’ native Oklahoma
City, last New Years’ Eve at midnight. This second performance, aside
from being completely awesome, is also a harbinger of good news: the
Lips will release the performance on CD, available June 28.
The album was recorded last year
before the band was even sure they would have the rights to release it.
In December 2009, it hit digital download sites and limited edition LPs
were released.
The covers on the CD were recorded with help from Henry Rollins, Peaches and Stardeath and White Dwarfs.
