Shel Silverstein , author of  classic kids' poetry like Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic, will have a tribute album of his songs performed by My Morning Jacket and others.

 

 Silverstein, who died in 1999, was also a songwriter. He penned "A Boy Named Sue" for Johnny Cash and "The Cover of the Rolling Stone" for Dr. Hook. Did you know that? Isnt that Phat?

The new album Twistable, Turnable Man: A Musical Tribute to the Songs of Shel Silverstein, due June 8 from Sugar Hill, honors Silverstein the songwriter. My Morning Jacket and Andrew Bird are two of the artists contributing to the album.
