Yesterday was Election Day in Eagle County for a number of boards and one issue.

In the Town of Avon, citizens voted down a proposal to give the Town the power to sell property without voter approval.  The proposal fell 157-65 votes.

Louise Funk and Bob Finlay were elected to the Eagle-Vail Metro Board.  It was a record turn-out for an Eagle-Vail Board election.

An incumbent and a newcomer won seats on the Vail Rec District’s Board--Jeff Wiles and Michelle Hall came out on top in the election, with 189 and 132 votes.

Fred Sackbauer defeated incumbent Timm Paxson for an open seat on the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District Board of Directors.  Three other incumbents ran uncontested which means they were re-elected.

Clark Shivley secured a spot on the board of directors of the Eagle River Fire Protection District yesterday.

George Gregory and Heather Cook McInerny were elected to four year seats on the Berry Creek Metro District yesterday.  C. Michael Budd ran uncontested for a two- year spot.
