A 911 call came in at 2:32 am Thursday morning (6/5/2008).  Fire Units from the Town of Vail, the Eagle River Fire District and Gypsum Fire District battled the fire for about 3 hours.

The origin and cause of the fire is unknown at this time.  The investigation of the fire scene will not begin until the fire cools later this afternoon.

The fire primarily destroyed the interior of the building and the loss is estimated in the multi-million dollar range.  About 25 people work at Western Slope Laundry.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation's Crime Lab will assist local detectives and investigators in determining the cause.
