Eagle County Flood Advisory in Effect Through Friday

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION  HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MELTING SNOW IN SOUTHEASTERN EAGLE COUNTY IN CENTRAL COLORADO…

* UNTIL 2:15 AM MDT FRIDAY 5/30

* AT 2:10 PM MDT TODAY (5/27), AUTOMATED RAIN GAUGES INDICATED SNOW MELT WHICH WILL CAUSE THE EAGLE RIVER TO RISE OVERNIGHT. THIS RAPID RISE WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING IN THE ADVISORY AREA.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE…AVON…MINTURN…TENNESSEE PASS…EDWARDS…RED CLIFF…GILMAN…EAGLE-VAIL AND DOWD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

*A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
